People come from all over Essex and London to enjoy the wide range of facilities and services at The Firs Day Care Centre. We believe that day care is all about providing an enabling environment, giving those with learning and physical disabilities the opportunity to enjoy life, and choose their own activities and pursuits.
Our Day Care Centre is packed full of interesting and engaging activities including music, arts and crafts and a number of indoor and outdoor games. We realise that each of our visitors and residents has varying abilities and requirements but, with our specialist care and equipment, the facilities are made accessible to all of our service users, including the ball pools, sensory room, spa pool, petting area and gardens.
We always encourage our service users to pursue their own hobbies and interests, allowing them to develop life skills and partake in rewarding experiences, from caring for the animals in the petting area and looking after the produce in the organic garden to our trips out swimming, bowling, trampolining and to the zoo.
Choice is at the forefront of everything we offer at the Day Care Centre. Every one of our service users is respected as a unique individual with their own personal freedom to make informed choices. Our highly trained and experienced staff find ways to effectively communicate with each individual to ensure their time spent at The Firs is as comfortable, stimulating and enjoyable as possible.
Our fleet of wheelchair accessible vehicles make the importance of getting out and about easy and comfortable and we are happy to transport service users to and from the centre.
